Application
1. EDM industry
EDM graphite (EDM) is mainly used for processing a variety of complex shapes and precision fine workpieces, such as punching die, concave die, convex die, fixed plate, discharge plate, etc., forming tools, templates, metal electrodes for EDM forming processing, a variety of micro-holes, narrow cracks, arbitrary curves, etc. It has the advantages of small processing allowance, high processing precision, short production cycle and low manufacturing cost, and has been widely used in production. At present, EDM wireline cutting machines at home and abroad have accounted for more than 60% of the total number of electric machining machines.
Edm is the principle of using the instantaneous high temperature generated when the spark between the electrode and the workpiece is energized to remove layers of materials on the surface of the workpiece. Edm is suitable for machining high-hardness conductive workpieces. CNC EDM forming machine is a good example of EDM.
2, continuous casting industry
The continuous casting industry uses graphite mold, because of its good thermal conductivity (thermal conductivity determines the solidification rate of metal or alloy), the self-lubrication performance of the mold is good and other factors, not only to improve the casting speed, but also because of the accurate size of the ingot, smooth surface, uniform crystalline organization, can be directly processed in the next process. This not only greatly improves the finished product rate, reduces the waste loss, and the product quality has also been greatly improved. There are two continuous casting methods: vertical continuous casting method and horizontal continuous casting method.
Continuous casting graphite molds are also used in the metal smelting industry, where melted metals can be cast with graphite molds. Graphite molds can be reused, but some designs can only be disposable. The use of graphite molds can directly cast precisely creative small grain castings.
2. Metallurgical industry
Due to the small coefficient of thermal expansion of graphite, and the ability to change cold and heat, can be used as a glass casting mold, the use of graphite after the black metal casting size is accurate, the surface is smooth and high yield, can be used without processing or slightly processed, thus saving a lot of metal. The production of tungsten carbide and other powder metallurgy processes, usually made of graphite materials to press molds and sintering graphite boats and other graphite products.
Refractory materials for metallurgical industry (graphite raw materials processed into graphite products) : graphite raw materials have the characteristics of low corrosion rate, thermal shock stability, corrosion resistance, hot strength and other high temperature performance, to meet the needs of large and medium-sized metallurgical industry process, while graphite materials have the advantages of being better than other materials.
Due to low surface humidity, small coefficient of thermal expansion, good lubrication performance, chemical stability, high temperature resistance, high thermal conductivity and other properties, graphite products are widely used in metallurgical industry.
3. The nuclear industry
Graphite has a good neutron moderator used in atomic reactors, and uranium-graphite reactor is one of the most widely used atomic reactors. As a power for atomic energy reactor deceleration material should have a high melting point, stability, corrosion resistance, graphite can fully meet the above requirements. The purity of graphite used in atomic reactors is very high, and the impurity content should not exceed dozens of PPM. In particular, the boron content should be less than 0.5PPM. In the defense industry, graphite is also used to make graphite nozzles for solid fuel rockets, graphite nose cones, parts of space navigation equipment, heat insulation and radiation protection materials.
4. Photovoltaic industry
Photovoltaic industry involves the single crystal furnace industry and polycrystalline furnace industry and other industries upstream and downstream, single crystal/polycrystalline graphite thermal field using graphite raw materials refined to provide customers with a good graphite product experience, but also improve the photovoltaic industry product yield.
5, vacuum furnace industry
Graphite materials are very suitable for use in vacuum atmospheres at high temperatures. Due to its physical, chemical and thermal properties. The application temperature can reach 2300 degrees Celsius. At the same time, graphite has the advantages of uniform heating, good electrical conductivity, high current capacity, high corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, high chemical purity and high mechanical strength.
